Introduction

COURSE OBJECTIVES


The Degree in Tourism aims to provide future graduates with academic and professional skills in the field of Tourism, specifically in the field of the various impacts of tourism and the provision of services.

These skills will promote the quick and full insertion into the active life of the Tourism graduate, by formatting a highly qualified professional profile, able to face any challenge in this area of activity.

SKILLS TO ACQUIRE

  • It is intended to provide Tourism Graduates with fundamental skills to work in different fields and activities, namely:
  • Know the concepts and theories that are used to understand tourism;
  • Mastering the functional codes and processes of dynamic interaction of all agents integrated in the tourist dynamics (tourist, host community and economic agents);
  • Know the organizational structures of tourism (national and international) and apply the directives issued by it;
  • Be part of the different types of institutions and tourist companies and their respective modes of organization, management and specific areas of action;
  • Be able to intervene in tourism development projects;
  • Know the organizational models of the different types of companies/economic groups linked to tourism;
  • Know and understand the functioning of the different operational areas of the tourist units;
  • Know the main theories of management and be able to apply them depending on their suitability to specific situations;
  • Master the different types of tourist operations;
  • Understand and be critically aware of the moral, ethical, environmental and legal guidelines that frame best practices.

  • Management/Coordination of the tourism sector in official Tourism bodies;
  • Managers in Consulting and Planning Companies in Tourism, Tourist Animation, Tourist Transport and Travel Agencies;
