Goals
The Renewable Energy Engineering Degree aims to train human resources with the right skills to the wide range of needs of emerging industries in the country (and the region) in the renewable energy sector, promoting their competitiveness and sustainability. Its main objectives are: - To train senior technicians in the field of renewable energy, with expertise in the application and integration of technologies associated with renewable energy, with a view to use, rationalization and energy production (thermal and / or electrical); - Contribute to the development of renewable energy in Portugal and meet the need of senior an area in need of qualified training offer, particularly in the area where you insert this institution of higher education; - Contribute to reducing the negative environmental effects from the use of fossil fuels, to form senior technicians who know how to harmonize the most appropriate and environmentally sustainable energy solutions for each situation; - Generate business opportunities in the energy market liberalization environment.

After completing the course, graduates in Engineering Renewable Energy will have the following career opportunities: - Development projects in the installation and production systems using Renewable Energy, alone or integrated; - Consultancy in the field of Renewable Energy (design, technical feasibility analysis / economic projects, evaluation of best practices / techniques); - Maintenance and servicing the equipment and renewable energy utilization systems; - Development and integration solutions for energy production from renewable sources; - Management systems and processes that use renewable energy.
