About Us
IPAM is a school that has over 30 years of experience in teaching marketing, having always offered education of excellence in close proximity to companies and the markets.
Our teaching model combines theory and practice, taught by faculty with business experience and real-world challenges that are posed to students by companies.
The environment at IPAM Lisbon is one of professionalism, competence, and determination. The students are true Marketing Managers when starting or developing their careers.
History
Founded in 1984, it is the oldest and largest school of marketing in Portugal and has trained over 9,000 students in its 31 years of existence.
It was one of the first Portuguese institutions of higher education to be assessed by the European University Association, the most important association in the sector.
During the 1990s, IPAM sees remarkable growth. It develops a very close relationship with the business market, its courses receive recognition from the Portuguese government, it holds its 1st Congress of Marketing Professionals and launches the only scientific journal specialized in Marketing to this day.
After the year 2000, IPAM holds the largest management simulator at the national level, it fully integrates all of its academic programs within the framework of the Bologna Process and welcomes the illustrious Philip Kotler and Tom Peters in inaugural lessons for the academic year.
Academic Model
A student-centered teaching model, which aims at preparing students for a global world through the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills that will enhance their employability anywhere the world.
At IPAM, throughout the years a pedagogical model that combines classroom activities, technology, and a link to the market has been developed.
During these classroom activities, the instruction is given in the more conventional model but with innovative pedagogical methodologies (case studies, theatre, role-playing, group work, tutorial sessions, or simulations). Instruction in a blended-learning environment is aided by new technologies (moodle, networking, forums, chats, video conferencing).
Finally, instruction in a market environment is carried out outdoors (business and opening-days, classes in companies, working visits, traineeships, workshops, or conferences).
