Introduction
The Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) programme is an integrated combination of general education and high-quality business studies. It offers 8 concentrations of business studies, which are:
- Accounting
- Economics & Data Analytics
- Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation
- Finance
- Human Resources Management
- Information Systems & Business Intelligence
- Marketing
- Strategic Retail Management & Innovation
This programme adopts a hybrid admission approach. Students can choose to admit to BBA (Hons) or BBA (Hons) - Accounting Concentration. Admitted students in BBA (Hons) can investigate different concentrations by completing a common Year 1 curriculum and must declare their concentration by the end of Year 1.
Students can choose from one of the 7 concentrations (except for Accounting Concentration, of which direct application is required) which they will specialise from Year 2 onwards.
Additional graduation options include:
- a Double Degree programme in Business with Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Canada;
- a Double Degree programme with Kozminsky University (KU) in Poland;
- a Double Degree programme with NEOMA Business School (NBS) in France;
- a Double Concentration within the BBA (Hons) programme; or
- a Minor in a non-business discipline from HKBU.

Graduates can explore a wide range of career options in accounting and management, advertising, banking, business analysis, global and China business, economic analysis, finance, IS auditing, management or human resources management, marketing and sales, research, systems analysis, training, and consulting.
Graduate Employment
Our BBA graduates have long been preferred by employers across various industries. The average employment rate of the past five years (2015 - 2019) is over 95% and students were able to secure full-time jobs within 6 months after graduation (excluding those who pursue further studies and emigrated).
Internship Opportunities
The local and overseas internship opportunities offered by HKBU and the School of Business give students hands-on work experiences in various fields. Business-related internship can enhance students' competitiveness for employment and future advancement. Over 60% of BBA students have participated in 1 to 3 local and/or overseas internship programmes during their 4-year university life.

Non-credit Bearing Internship Programmes:
Non-credit bearing internship programmes offered by HKBU allow students to gain work experience in local companies or overseas cities such as Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Singapore, or the U.K. during the summer:
- Global Attachment Opportunities (GAO)
- Local Attachment Opportunities (LAO)
- Metropolitan Attachment Programme (MAP)
Every summer, over 50 BBA students intern in overseas destinations. Every year, nearly 100 BBA students join these programmes with financial support.
Citi-HKCSS Community Intern Programme (CIP):
The Citi-HKCSS Community Intern Programme (CIP) is an annual summer internship programme organised by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service for more than 770 student interns in past 10 years. The Programme allows student interns to contribute knowledge and expertise to NPO, and the ultimate aim is to cultivate the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility and to provide future business professionals with a broadened understanding of the community.
In CIP 2021, a total of 78 students, of which 15 of them are from BU BBA, have completed their internship and served the community in 40 non-government organisations and social enterprises.
Scholarships and Funding
Admission Scholarship Scheme for Overseas Applicants (renewal scholarships)
These scholarships* are available to non-local applicants at the time of entrance into HKBU. No separate application for a scholarships is required. These scholarships are renewable for normal duration of study subject to the student’s achievement of good result.
- Full Scholarship ($195,000)
- Tuition-waiver Scholarship ($145,000)
- Half Scholarship (HK$97,500)

Belt and Road Scholarship
The University will nominate outstanding non-local non-mainland admittees from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and other Belt and Road countries to compete for the Belt and Road Scholarship offered by the Government of Hong Kong SAR. The scholarship covers annual tuition fees and is tenable for the normal duration of the study programme concerned and renewable annually subject to satisfactory academic performance of the recipients.
One-off Admission Scholarships
One-off admission scholarships of HK$40,000 or HK$20,000 will be awarded to international applicants have satisfactory academic qualifications higher than the HKBU minimum requirement, and demonstrated satisfactory performance in the admission interview.
There is no maximum quota for these one-off admission scholarships. No separate application for a scholarships is required.
Renewable Admission Scholarships
Overseas students with excellent academic result and good interview performance would be recommended to receive an admission scholarship of HK$190,000 (Full Award) and HK$95,000 (Half Award), which is renewable for normal duration of studies subject to the student’s achievement of good result.
One-off Admission Scholarships
One-off admission scholarship of HK$40,000 and HK$20,000 are also available for applicable overseas students.
