The business administration course Hochschule Schmalkalden
The business administration course is aimed at future managers in small, medium-sized and large companies in Thuringia and nationwide. Here you will learn the basics of management from scratch and also acquire relevant statistical and economics knowledge in order to be able to act as a manager with foresight and to meet the admission requirements for many master’s programs. The imparting of key qualifications and our career service also prepare you optimally for your professional life. You can optionally attend lectures in English or Spanish. Practical in the lectures as well as on practical excursions you will find a quick introduction to business administration. With the elective subjects you can specialize in the second half of your studies. You can deepen your knowledge as part of the compulsory internship.

Business studies course structure
The 7-semester full-time course leads to the degree of "Bachelor of Arts". The practice-oriented business administration degree consists of the following six elements:
- 21 compulsory subjects (105 ECTS points)
- Elective subjects for personal focus (at least 60 ECTS points)
- Student thesis (to prepare for the bachelor thesis)
- Internship semester
- 9-week bachelor thesis (12 ECTS points)
- Colloquium (final oral exam; 3 ECTS points)
Your business education in Schmalkalden is based on 21 compulsory subjects, in which the important cornerstones are laid. The achievement of the learning objectives is checked in course-related examinations.
