Introduction
Bachelor of Science in Construction Management in Refurbishment and Maintenance
GMIT Castlebar Campus
The programme provides graduates with highly marketable skills in the areas of CAD, surveying, construction management and construction technology. Strong emphasis is placed on communications - a critical element in the successful completion of construction products. Numerous site visits are also undertaken throughout the first two years of the programme. The emphasis of the programme is practical, familiarising the students with planning and organisational techniques used in the industry, with particular emphasis on the use of up-to-date methods of construction design and management.
The final year of the programme provides an understanding of the current theory and practice in the building refurbishment and maintenance management sectors.
It emphasises the effective use and protection of buildings and the protection of the environment in the long-term.
