Delve into one of the oldest academic disciplines
From Aristotle and Plato to Machiavelli and Aquinas, to modern analysts and statesmen, political scientists have been concerned with issues of power, governance, public policy, social behavior and interactions among nation-states, among many others.
Courses required for this major include all major sub-disciplines of this field: Political Theory, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Economy, as well as Research Methodologies. The interdisciplinary electives encourage students to look at political issues from the perspective of other disciplines. Compared to the more applied major in International Relations, the major in Political Science is more humanistic and disciplinary. This major provides excellent preparation for graduate study and careers in fields such as law, journalism or education.

We welcome you and your friends and family to experience what it means to live and learn in our safe, international environment.
Franklin University Switzerland is accredited in both the United States and Switzerland.
That means that your degree is truly international, with automatic validity in two countries, and that you have an advantage to pursuing an international career or furthering your study in the US or Switzerland. The doors opened by a Franklin education go far beyond these two countries, though, and most countries in the world will grant equivalence to a Franklin degree if you have your sights set elsewhere.
Franklin maintains this recognition through periodic quality assurance reviews by authorities from the US and Switzerland.
