BA in History

History studies past human experience in all its aspects: economic, social, political, cultural, intellectual, scientific, and technological. Our temporal scope spans the ancient past to modern times, while cultural and spatial interests involve the peoples of Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. We provide you with skills that will allow you to interpret the past in a thoughtful, evidence-based manner.

History can be studied as a single major or in combination with other majors and the many certificate programs offered by FIU. We encourage you to build your learning community by joining Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honors society, and help shape our dynamic academic environment.
