Introduction
Sustainable combination of biotechnology and environmental technology
Headlines of our time are: "The corona pandemic is spreading in Austria" or "Thanks to the development of new drugs, we can enjoy excellent health into old age" and "Green steel thanks to less CO2 emissions during production". No matter which of these headlines you are interested in, graduates of the biotechnology and environmental engineering course deal with it in their jobs. If you are interested in working on current topics in the field of biotechnology and environmental engineering, you have come to the right place. We offer you a unique combination of science and technology, which is very important for dealing with the challenges of our time. The broad training allows you to develop sustainable concepts for a future worth living.
EASY START - focused, fast and yet flexible
Your first year at Campus Wels
With this new feature, we want to make starting your studies easier and more flexible for you. During your first year of study, you will also have the opportunity to try out the sister courses Agricultural Technology & Management and Food Technology & Nutrition and - if you wish - you can easily switch after the end of the second semester without losing any time or losing any scholarship.
First year optionally in English or German
As part of the international "Green Science" program, students of the "Agricultural Technology and Management", "Bio- and Environmental Engineering" and "Food Technology and Nutrition" programs can complete their first year of study in either English or German.
Important facts
A career must offer quality of life, an exciting environment and opportunities for further development. A degree in bio- and environmental engineering meets these criteria: Immediately after graduation, you work as a project employee in the planning of large industrial plants. You then move on to being responsible for a sub-area of the construction before managing projects yourself. Another example lets you start as an analyst in drug production before managing individual production steps yourself. And with the acquired know-how, you can then lead a research group to develop
new medicines.
