Introduction
The profound changes in consumption habits of goods and services and the consequent technological development of industry and the tertiary sector in the first decade of this century, impose the need to incorporate added value in products via the integration of technology with design, as how to strengthen their capacity for innovation and differentiation in competitive markets increasingly competitive, both locally or in a context of globalization.
Currently, the economic competition makes the product innovation - research, development and launch of new products - an essential means of preserving and gaining market tracks. The markets are increasingly saturated and demand thus eventually focus on those products that have innovative differentials.
A degree in Furniture Design and Technology aims to be a strong background in terms of thinking of design and engineering of furniture products, both by technological innovation in its production and in its functional configuration, either by qualifying use.
It is intended that the Licensed Technology and Furniture Design are familiar with the tools and furniture products and technology development techniques involved in its manufacture: production methods, understanding of material uses and limits and ability to ensure that the product is suitable for use. Students will be encouraged to make use of the extensive facilities of the School for computer design, prototyping, testing and manufacture of their projects in partnership with companies using the available equipment and machines controlled by computer.
With Bachelor's Degree in Technology and Furniture Design aims to develop a set of creative skills and management, with an engineering application base, production and material technology in the development of furniture products.
