Introduction

Upon graduation from the Naval School, having completed the Instruction Cruise on the “Esmeralda” School Ship and the period of applied professional training, the Supply Ladder Officers complete a three-year professional practice period in positions of their own scope. This basically includes service onboard the Navy ships and in the Supply Centers of the Naval Bases, with performance in the organic units in charge of supply, finance, procurement, and material administration activities.

After this period, the Officers are assigned to the Naval Polytechnic Academy, to complete their higher studies and specialization in Naval Supply Systems, studies that have strong components in accounting, finance, and logistics administration. This allows them to achieve the professional skills necessary to perform in positions of greater responsibility as Supply and Finance Officer.

The Officers of this rank opt for positions of high institutional responsibility in the areas of logistics and financial management, both onboard and ashore, in the Squad, Submarine Force, Naval Aviation, Marine Corps Detachments, Supply Centers, Naval Missions and Technical Inspectorates abroad, Naval Hospitals, Shipyards and Masters of the Navy, Maritime Governments, and in the Technical and General Directorates. Likewise, they serve as Advisers to the Naval High Command, in the Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Zones, and in the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.

During their professional career, they have the opportunity to expand and consolidate their knowledge of economics, administration, logistics, and finance, through various complementary and postgraduate courses, inside and outside the country, as they must be permanently updated and qualified to incorporate with new efficiency logistics and financial technology and procedures.

The Supply Officers can reach the rank of Rear Admiral, and integrate the Institutional High Command as Director of Supply, Director of Accounting, General Director of Finance of the Navy, or other positions that the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy designates.
