The methodology of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) combines rigorous theoretical training with a practical, experience-based learning process that will plunge you into the reality of the corporate world and business decision-making. This immersion will increase gradually, in accordance with the learning by doing philosophy: as the semesters advance, multiple management experiences will be introduced both inside and outside of the classroom.

Practical learning-by-doing education

  • Participatory classes
  • Solving real-life case studies
  • Management simulations and company-creation projects
  • Participation in competitions and business games
  • Outdoor experiences
  • Research projects
  • Individual study and teamwork

Student First – Flipped Classroom

ESADE’s new teaching methodology, Student First, draws on the latest educational trends and is based on a basic concept: the participatory role of students. With the Student First methodology, you and your classmates will participate in knowledge creation and contribute through your work to a collective learning process.

One major way in which ESADE’s approach differs from traditional methods is that students must come to class having prepared the topic of discussion ahead of time. This “flipped classroom” approach divides learning into three phases:

  • Pre-class preparation
read, research or view multimedia content on the basics of the topic to be discussed.
  • In-class work
share the knowledge you’ve acquired with your classmates and the instructor by debating, reflecting, and solving cases, challenges and projects.
  • After class
deepen your understanding, reflect further and apply the acquired concepts in other areas.

Advantages of the Student First system

  • You internalise knowledge in a more natural way.
  • When you get to class, you’ve already identified your doubts, so you can share them and solve them.
  • Classes are more enriching: you focus on applying knowledge and you receive input not only from the instructor but from all your classmates.
  • It prepares you for the future: you learn to apply theory in different circumstances and to work collaboratively.
  • You become more open to learning new things.

Impact Learning

Practical methodology + hybrid learning

The Impact Learning methodology delivers a practical learning experience and connects you with the most advanced trends in teaching. It is based on five defining concepts and integrates different hybrid methodologies that are already being applied in some BBA subjects.

  • Innovative
Flipped classroom + collaborative learning + project-based learning + development of competencies and skills.
  • Multimethodological
Includes different learning experiences with multi-perspective methodologies.
  • Personal and Purposeful
Learning based on interaction among students
  • Active
Hands-on learning that boosts your confidence and motivation.
  • Cooperative
    Students + Professors + Organisations.
  • Transformative
A transformative experience that follows the Jesuit tradition.
