Introduction

Industrial Engineering is a study program in which you examine a business process from the perspectives of people, engineering and organization. You develop a thorough theoretical basis and pay great attention to the practical applications of this knowledge.

Looking from all sides
A whole series of factors plays a role in the performance of any business process. Obviously, the engineering used is important whether the process involves machines, means of transport, operating rooms or computers. The way in which people are evaluated and treat one another also has an effect. And the style of planning and management: how are capacity and resources used? Only once you assess these aspects, will you know what you need to adjust to improve performance.

A feel for engineering
In brief, Industrial Engineering is an all-round course that requires you to have a feel for and interest in engineering. It is a combination of engineering, people and organization. With a good theoretical basis and a great deal of attention to practical applications, right from the first year.

It is evident from the Elsevier 2015 and the Higher Education Choices Guide 2016 that the Bachelor's program of Industrial Engineering has the highest score among similar courses.

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is the best university (of technology) in the Netherlands, according to Elsevier and the Keuzegids Universiteiten 2015 (Guide to Choosing a University 2016). Eindhoven University of Technology was also the best ranked Dutch University in the Global Employability Survey.

Bachelor program Industrial Engineering

Your future begins at TU/e in the Bachelor College, home to the university’s Bachelor study programs. As a student of this Bachelor College you get plenty of scope to compose your own study on the basis of your interests and ambitions. In the Bachelor College you begin with a three-year Bachelor, following a number of compulsory subjects like mathematics and physics and learning engineering design. In the Bachelor College you develop skills that you need in industry and learn to translate your technological knowledge into applications that are relevant for society. Your major forms a substantial part of your Bachelor study. It is where you choose the field in which you want to work later as an engineer. This is the basis of your study program.
