Superior skills in communication practice and innovative creative outputs are developed in the majors on offer to allow specialisation in a particular media area. Students acquire knowledge about the cultural impact of the media and gain critical insights into our local and globalised world to make a meaningful contribution to society. Students are also required to complete an eight-unit major from within the Bachelor of Media and Communication: Broadcasting and Digital Journalism, Screen Production, Photomedia, Advertising, Media & Cultural Studies, Public Relations or Screen Studies.
Students are required to complete remaining credit points in the form of either an eight-unit major, minor(s), and/or elective units. These may be selected from anywhere within the university. Units in this course should be completed in year sequence (e.g. all first-year units should be completed before proceeding to second-year units).
