Introduction
School of Tourism
Today tourism in Chile and the world has experienced a strong growth, generating different types of activities ranging from outdoor and eco-tourism, working aboard a cruise, in the culinary and gastronomical sectors, or within airports and hotels, among others.
Duoc UC students will develop language skills in English and Portuguese, work with technological tools related to tourism, and experience the satisfaction of a “job well done” by seeing the smile of satisfied customers.
Tourism and Hospitality
This degree has two programs that share the same curriculum but one is taught in Spanish and the other one is completely taught in English. Graduates from Tourism and Hospitality have the skills to work in the areas of management and administration, both locally and internationally, in various tourism businesses: hotels, bed & breakfasts, hostels, restaurants, cruises, convention centers, catering & events, tour operators, wholesalers and agencies, public administration and municipalities, tourist information, consulting, air transportation enterprises and car rentals. They are also capable of undertaking their own businesses and innovation projects for the industry.
- Professional Title: Tourism and Hospitality Manager.
- Technical Title: Tourism and Hospitality Technician.
How to apply
First, check that your home university or polytechnic institute has an ongoing exchange agreement with Duoc UC.
Thoroughly research your prospective courses. Most of our programs are in Spanish; therefore make sure you have sufficient proficiency in this language for your classes. We do offer a free 44-hour Spanish course for all non-native Spanish speakers, but in order to successfully complete your courses, we advise at least an intermediate Spanish level.
For non-Spanish speakers, Duoc UC also offers the Tourism and Hospitality Program, fully taught in English
