Introduction

School of Design

Design can be found everywhere: in the products we use, the containers that protect food, in the spaces we inhabit, in the languages of communication with which we interact, and even in the services that we use on a daily basis. Today, the design is transversely part of everything, and there are many industries and economic sectors that generate value through working with design professionals.

The School of Design trains design specialists, who through strong international links and a vision of social innovation can achieve their full development.

Graphic Design

Graphic Designers are trained professionals that can work freelance, as part of consulting and development services for visual communication projects, participating in multidisciplinary teams of diverse public and private companies in the communications sector and related industries, and/or directly contributing to the development of graphic communication solutions.

In turn, they can also form part of internal communication departments of various types of companies, which require an area responsible for developing and formalizing processes associated to the corporate image and identity of those companies.

The main areas in which the Graphic Designer generally work are related to the area of communications such as design agencies, advertising agencies, and media, publishing houses, magazines, newspapers, television and audiovisual producer companies. Together, designers also work within companies related to the production processes which utilize graphic elements in printed or digital formats, printing, services associated with printed and digital graphics.

Furthermore, they can generate their own innovative projects and/or become entrepreneurs in their area, which respond to potential niche markets, developing new development channels and promoting employment.
