Elementary Education (Bachelor of Education)

This major originated from Chengdu Normal School in 1904, and the training of primary school teachers has a history of over 100 years. The century-old teacher training has accumulated the profound cultural and educational background of this major, and has gathered a wealth of high-quality education and teaching resources. 70% of the principals of prestigious schools in Chengdu are our alumni.

Training goals: This major is positioned to cultivate "one main and two wings" applied general primary school teachers who are "respect for the profession, learn, broad subject, strong practice, and innovative". Based on the training of the core competence and comprehensive quality of teacher education, "One Master" emphasizes the education and teaching knowledge and ability of a subject (Chinese or mathematics) to meet the needs of more specialized teachers in urban primary schools. "Two Wings" emphasizes the development of basic teaching abilities in multiple disciplines and the skills and expertise of normal students. This major implements a progressive whole-process practice system to fully cultivate and develop students' teacher skills and interests, and adapt to the diverse ability requirements of all primary school teachers.
