CCQ Community College Of Qatar
Introduction
As part of a substantial national investment in human development and in partial fulfillment of the educational goals articulated in the Qatar National Vision 2030, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar established the Community College of Qatar (CCQ). The purpose of CCQ is to provide a diverse range of educational opportunities which include: 2-year academic programs that prepare students for transfer to four-year universities, 2 + 2 academic programs as well as 2-year career oriented programs to meet the country’s critical workforce and labor needs.
The Community College of Qatar, in collaboration with Houston Community College, opened its doors for the first time in September 2010 with an enrollment of 308 full-time students at the West Bay Campus. Ever since the college has seen an increase in enrollment every semester. Today, CCQ is the fastest growing institution in Qatar with an enrollment of 5000 students at five different campuses.
The college offers a number of associate and bachelor degree programs that meet the needs of the labor force in Qatar. Among them are two-year Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree programs for students wishing to transfer to four-year universities, high demand 2+2 associate and bachelor's degree programs and two-year and Applied Science degree programs. CCQ also offers short-term continuing education and marketable skills certificates for those who wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills to become more marketable in the job market. In addition, CCQ has partnered with a number of local and international four-year universities in order to provide students with the opportunity to seamlessly transfer to a university to obtain a bachelor's degree without losing the validation for any of their coursework.
