Introduction
Bachelors in Fashion Design and/or Tailoring and Fashion Techniques
The Bachelors in Fashion Design and/or Tailoring and Fashion Techniques is a 3-year program that prepares students to work in the Fashion Industry. The program allows students to master the conceptual tools and techniques necessary to deployment of his/her creativity and the translation into a visual and technical language specific to fashion. The future Fashion Designer or Tailor will be able to create a garment or accessory from conception, through to sketches and the creation of prototypes, whether it be a unique piece or a part of a collection or industrial assembly design.
The student will be capable of capturing a trend, of decoding it and having a unique take on the latest fashion and aesthetic movements through applied personal work to develop a unique and individual style and an efficient and high-quality means of production. After completing the Fashion Design and/or Tailoring and Fashion Techniques, the student will master the conceptualization, fashion drawing, pattern-making, sewing techniques needed to create high-quality garments and accessories. Students will be introduced to technical software for pattern-making and cutting such as Lectra along with the tailoring technical aspects of creating unique pieces.
The professional fashion designer or tailor is called upon to interpret life-style and fashion trends in order to create garments and accessories that meet a client’s expectations and/or embody a brand’s aesthetic and ethos. The graduate in Fashion Design and/or Tailoring will have acquired a professionalism, dynamism and versatility necessary in order to rigorously translate his/her ideas into high quality garments and accessories.
The work of the fashion designer consists among other things in translating fashion and life style trends into garment and accessory designs keeping in mind the evolution of aesthetic and artistic trends and movements. As for the tailor, his/her work lies in creating efficient and cutting-edge patterns and design techniques for the most effective garment and accessory designs that respond to the needs of future consumers.
Curriculum
First Year
The first year provides students with the theoretical fundaments from fashion design to the applied technical skills learned through practical ateliers that allow the student understand the cultural, artistic and technical aspects of the various professional areas of the Fashion Industry.
At the end of the first year, the student will have a clear understanding of the profession of the Fashion Designer and Tailor in its entirety thanks to the acquisition of a solid theoretical foundation.
A strong point of the initial training is the exposure of students to real-world situations which invite them to respond to a given theme by creating a complete Fashion portfolio of a few garment and accessories from conception to finished product.
Second Year
The second year consolidates the technical fundamentals and the practical skills learned in the first year and allows students to begin a more nuanced conceptual approach. The student will create garments and accessories while discovering the technical constraints linked to its fabrication depending on the materials used.
The student will also begin the creation and application of personal projects aimed at establishing a pluri-disciplinarily of competencies.
In parallel, the student will discover an approach to marketing linked to the marketing and distribution of a collection.
Third Year
In the third and final year students, having acquired the necessary competencies and technical know-how in Fashion Design, Pattern-Making and Sewing will prepare and present the culmination of their study in the form of a personal ‘Capsule Collection’ project. The project is scrupulously supervised by professors and the workshops and ateliers are put at the students disposal in order to complete their collections. An event is organized in order to promote the students’ collections and to mark the end of the students’ training and the beginning of their professional life as a Fashion or Tailoring Designer.

The Bachelors in Fashion Design and/or Tailoring and Fashion Techniques is a 3-year program that prepares students for major professional work in the Fashion Industry. The program allows students to acquire the technical language and know-how as well as the professional tools in various fabric, textiles and pattern-making, tailoring and cutting techniques in order to successfully bring to life a unique visual conception. A thesis project at the end of the program will allow students to develop an individual project of professional quality while respecting a clear set of specifications and quality standards
