Introduction

Be prepared for ministry.

Earn a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in as few as five years. There has never been a more rigorous and expedient way to prepare for gospel ministry. Experience the rigor of seminary while enjoying the rich community of Boyce.

Study with the authors.

Seminary Track students have the opportunity to study with the world-renowned faculty of Southern Seminary: Scholars like R. Albert Mohler Jr. and Tom Schreiner.

Save time. Save money.

The Boyce Seminary Track not only saves time – it can save more than $10,000 compared to completing the degrees separately.

“The Boyce Seminary Track provides the opportunity to study with top scholars who are unapologetically committed to the Scriptures. I have been amazed at how much my professors care about more than just my academics, they care about me. Southern doesn’t want to just produce scholars, they want to cultivate Christ-like ministers of the Word for a world in need.”
Garrett Davis, B.A. Biblical & Theological Studies (Seminary Track), 2017

Admissions Requirements

  1. Pastor/Church Recommendation Form
When filling out our online application, recommendation forms are emailed to those whom you’ve indicated should receive them.
Family members may not complete a recommendation form. Recommenders must have known the applicant for a minimum of one year. If for some reason, recommendations do not reflect the proper amount of diversity, the Admissions Office may request additional recommendations.
  2. Spiritual Autobiography
When filling out the online application you’ll find a space to type your Spiritual Autobiography. The Spiritual Autobiography is a typed essay — no longer than 500 words — documenting your conversion, concisely articulating the gospel and telling your reasons for choosing Boyce College.
  3. Official Transcripts
Transcription from all educational institutions is required. Official High School transcripts or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) test scores are necessary unless the applicant has more than 24 college hours of post-high school college credit (dual enrollment courses do not count towards these 24 hours). It is best for applicants to request that transcripts be sent directly from their school to the Southern Seminary Admissions Office. In no case will the seminary consider as official a transcript marked “Issued to Student.” For transfer students, we also require other college and/or university transcripts
  4. Application Fee
A $40 non-refundable application fee is due to the admissions office before the student’s application packet can be processed.
  5. ACT/SAT/CLT Scores
All applicants (including home-schooled students) are required to submit scores from either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Test (ACT), or the Classic Learning Test (CLT). The SAT code for Boyce College is 3858 and the ACT code is 5522. Applicants who are 24 or older or have passed 15 hours (post-high-school) from (a) a regionally accredited college or (b) a college with AABC accreditation, and have maintained at least a C average, are not required to submit these standardized test scores. (SAT, ACT, and CLT scores are not used as a basis of admission to Boyce College but are used to help evaluate a student’s ability to do college-level work.) Test scores can be waived for applicants 24 years or older.
  6. Housing Application
All applicants (including internet and extension center applicants) are required to affirm or deny their need for campus housing. Campus housing constraints require us to know of housing needs at the earliest possible date. The following link will take you to our housing application.
  7. Documents of Citizenship
Documentation of immigration classification for students who are not citizens of the United States.

Seminary Track Admissions

Applying to the seminary track is simple. Prospective students who meet the minimum requirements for application (27 ACT OR 1820 SAT OR 87 CLT with a high school GPA of 3.5+ OR 24 ACT OR 1650 SAT OR 76 CLT with a high school GPA of 3.75+) are invited to apply for “pre-qualification” into the Seminary Track. Those that don’t meet the minimum standards can seek admission after their first year of study. Students admitted into the seminary BA must maintain a 3.3 GPA throughout their studies to remain in the program.

Master of Divinity Requirements

Students who can be considered for admission to the MDiv during the secondary admission process must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 3.5
  • Minimum hours: 24 hours earned or in progress, which is equivalent to one year of study. Transfer students with 12 or more credits may apply after only one semester if they have pre-qualified for the seminary track.
  • Character evaluation: Evaluations are conducted in a variety of ways, depending on the student, to assess their Christian maturity and potential for success at the graduate level
  • Church Membership (Louisville): Applicants for the seminary track are required to demonstrate active membership in a church in Louisville.

Tuition and Fees

*Thanks to the generosity of the Southern Baptist Convention, students that are members of Southern Baptist Churches receive a steep discount on tuition. Tuition at Boyce is more than $20,000 less per year than the average Christian college. For students affiliated with SBC Churches, each class costs $1,257.

  • $419.00 per credit hour for Southern Baptist students
  • $838.00 per credit hour for non-Southern Baptist students
  • $447.00 student enrollment and student life fees

Average cost per semester: $10,357
