Introduction
Industrial Design is a strategic problem-solving process that drives innovative design, business success, and better living conditions with innovative products, systems, services, and experiences.
The application areas of industrial designers comprise various industries like product design, system design, service design, and experience design. The topics that include product design are furniture, transportation design, packaging, electronic devices, electrical tools, medical devices, investment products, house and office equipment, exhibition stands, lighting instruments, play and toys, products for babies and children, personal care products, sports equipment, jewelry design, etc. System Design includes systems combining products and services, combining products, product life-cycle design, visual identity design for product series, retail design, and visual design for exhibitions, museums, and other events. Service Design includes the topics like application of products and systems into services, design of service process, mapping for customer experience, and design of service presentation.
Experience Design includes user interface design, user experience design, and interaction design. Industrial designers can work in all private companies and social institutions as well as design consultancy firms of their own related to these areas application, research, and development, audit and controllership, consultancy, expertise, and education.
The candidates who are prone to the profession are expected to have abilities of critical thinking and perception, analyzing, restructuring, building empathy, and thinking in the third dimension and the process.
