Introduction
The global air transport industry secured over 42 million commercial flights in 2019, carried nearly 4.4 billion passengers, and generates 65.5 million jobs worldwide. New emerging markets continue to be the drivers of impressive growth around the world, driving airlines to open new destinations and shorten travel times for millions of new passengers. In the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to remember that the air transport industry is very resilient, and has always been able to hold its own because as we know, there is no globalization without air transport.
As recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the greatest challenge facing the industry is the attraction, qualification, and retention of future professionals of excellence. Companies in the industry worldwide understand that talent is now a primary and critical source of competitive advantage.
The Degree in Aviation Management is aimed at students seeking to lead and manage in the world of aviation. The course focuses on a wide range of aspects of the global air transport system, with a view to pursuing a professional career in a leading sector, whether in airlines or airports, regulatory bodies, or companies providing air transport and related services.
