Introduction

Overview

BA Film and Television Production develop creative skills and enhance conceptual understanding to help students learn the art of storytelling. Nurtured through hands-on exercises, the programme provides practical experience in scripting, shooting, directing, lighting, editing, audio design, post-production as well as writing proposals and pitching ideas needed to kick-start your career in the flourishing creative industries sector. The course is designed to pursue creative projects in a range of different formats and genres, wherein the students integrate technical know-how with the power of the imagination. With state of art facilities and experience-based learning approach, students develop short films and documentaries as part of their coursework. The three-year programme run in association with the industry. The learning takes place through a series of workshops and masterclasses from internal and visiting staff, including acclaimed filmmakers and television producers.

Eligibility

Minimum 50% aggregate in class X & XII. The medium of instruction is English; therefore, students will need to meet specific English proficiency requirements

The three year Bachelor’s Programme in Film and Television Production has tested pathways within the creative industries in the UAE which include Dubai Studio City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Media Production Free Zone and Dubai Film and TV commission for meaningful internships, placements and career opportunities for the graduates. The students participate in the local, national and international film and TV festivals, competitions, and workshops, including Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), Middle East Film and Comic Con, Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival etc. Dubai, emerging as a hub of creative industries in the region, offers lucrative career options in a range of creative fields like filmmaking, advertising, television broadcasting, Corporate and social media as scriptwriters, producers, directors, cinematographers, camera person, sound engineers, film promoters, social media executives etc.
