Introduction
The main focus of the Interior Design (ID) program at Ajman University is to holistically prepare students who are ready to take on the market challenges. Our ID program will equip you with creative, yet practical design skills helping you expand your career opportunities. We will do this through industry placement arranged by the program so that you gain direct and valuable exposure to the workplace. One testimony to this fact is the employment of our students in world-renowned and international organizations including Natuzzi, Clive Christian, Herman Miller and Walter Knoll, the list goes on!
The ID program is CAA accredited and is currently working to expand its recognition in other regions. The program has also been lately ranked amongst the top 250 international art and design programs by QS.
The faculty of the Interior Design program includes a wide range of experienced and renowned professionals including interior designers, architects, artists, and academic researchers. These faculty members come from well-known universities having a sound background in design practice and academics. We encourage you to read their introductions on our College website.
Apart from regular studies, pre-professional engagements are always encouraged for students by our professors, who will support you in finding and acquiring exciting internships, joining competitions, enrol in international and national workshops, attending conferences, visiting design firms, and exploring manufacturing and retail services related to design and construction.
With us, you will nurture your understanding, knowledge, and application of visual communication, design cultures, and environmental contexts. This sturdy base will strengthen your own distinct style and design language. You will develop impressive interior design concepts, need analysis, and space planning. Additionally, you will be trained to proficiently operate ID-related 2D and 3D computer software and robotic machines such as 3D printers, CNC apparatus, and laser cutters. These will enable you to confidently communicate your ideas for various interior design projects such as residences, retail outlets, offices, restaurants, and exhibitions. As your self-esteem grows, you will become more autonomous by experiencing and successfully addressing a multitude of design challenges.
The BID program curriculum, policies and procedures reflect the student’s needs. Upon completion of the BID program, students are awarded a degree named Bachelor in Interior Design.
