Introduction
The three-year course in Interior and Product Design prepares students to design objects used in various fields, as well as private and public spaces.
As the market continuously evolves, we shape a new generation of professionals able to answer to challenges related to product sustainability, and to the request of innovative products and solutions. Learning freehand drawing as well as digital one and modeling, together with the study of traditional and innovative material, will allow students to build a high-level of project methodology. Theoretical subjects include both historical and marketing studies concerning commodities and technology.
We organize opportunities for cultural and professional growth which entail to participate to international exhibitions, such as ‘Salone del Mobile’ in Milan; guided tours to specialized trade fairs, to companies and exhibitions typical of this field; meetings with people from the design, art and cultural worlds. All of these experiences allow students to understand their interests and address themselves towards a precise professional orientation.
The whole program is oriented towards shaping a professional designer who can reach an international degree of competence and to successfully establish themselves thanks to their knowledge and creativity.
As a conclusion of the three-year course, it is possible to further concentrate on the topic, while accessing the post-grad two-year courses of study.

Introducing young designers in the world of production
At present, designers work internationally in totally different fields one to another. Flexibility, competence and ability to innovate are essential qualities to become such a professional. In order to develop this attitude, we believe it is very important to align class education while keeping the pulse of producers, which allows to fully understand the market requests. This is a school open to the outer world, in constant contact with businesses from this field. We facilitate access to the business world to our students who graduated, providing them with a series of experiences and contacts developed during their learning period. In the latest years, our students, together with their professors, were involved in projects cooperating with important businesses which operate into different fields by participating into workshops, internships, international contests, where they often were awarded prizes and rewards.
Every year, the best students’ projects are displayed in an exhibition: this is the chance for them to become visible to businesses and professionals from the field. Andrea Branzi, Alessandro Mendini, Riccardo Dalisi, Cristina Morozzi, Cini Boeri, Denis Santachiara, industrial professional Alberto Alessi, Poltrona Frau, Kartell, Artemide are only some of the meetings with professionals and businesses leader in the design field, which took place at Accademia.
