Introduction

Geography is a science that examines the mutual relations between human and space. In this sense, geography is an interdisciplinary (multidisciplinary) science. Due to its structure benefiting from many branches of science, the distribution of geographical structures on earth; why, how and when geographic units occur where they are located; The events occurring have functions such as the relationship and connection with other events, as well as their visualization with maps. These characteristics also show the distribution-connection-cause-effect relationship, which are the basic principles of geography.

The vision of the Geography Department is to be a pioneering department that can produce and apply information with its researcher structure at a global level, dynamic, contemporary, democratic, sensitive to critical ethical values, guiding and preferred with its future-oriented prepositions.

Students who graduate from the Department of Geography are given the title of Geographer. Our alumni can work with official institutions such as Mineral Exploration Research Institute, State Hydraulic Works, Rural Services, General Directorate of Forestry, General Directorate of Highways, Meteorology Affairs, State Statistics Institute, State Planning Organization, Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Environment. Our graduates can work in regional planning and municipal planning activities. Also, after taking Pedagogical Formation courses, they can become teachers within the Ministry of National Education.
