The climate situation in the South Pacific is urgent. Global temperatures are set to soar by almost three degrees Celcius, even if international leaders honor the action pledges made in the public eye. The waters look set to rise. Around 60% of the South Pacific region’s infrastructure lies within 500 meters of the coast; that figure is closer to 95% for Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, and Tuvalu.
