The Chemical Engineering Department has developed a vision, mission, and educational objectives for its programme through well-established procedures. The vision of the Department is to be considered among the top departments in the Middle East, which produces graduates that meet international standards and is able to attract leading faculty. Our mission is to provide students with quality chemical engineering education, provide services, and carry out basic and applied research.

Provide a state-of-the-art programme that reflect a flexibility in changing to match the fast pace of emerging technologies employed in the civil engineering industry, and to achieve the BUE and Faculty key objectives to promote cultural, economic, social and technological development via capable civil engineering graduates, educated to the best UK academic standards, who are independent learners.

The mission of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department is to educate students for the practice of their profession in drilling, production and reservoir engineering topics for underground fluid resources in oil and gas and, for the advancement of knowledge and technology that form the basis of petroleum engineering as well as for finding solutions to the national, international, societal and environmental issues related to petroleum industry.

The mission of the Informatics and Computer Science undergraduate programme is to develop students' breadth of knowledge across the subject areas of Informatics and Computer Science, including their ability to apply the defining processes of computer science theories, abstraction, design, and implementation to solve problems in the discipline.

The Mission of the Electrical Engineering Programme is to provide undergraduate and graduate educational programmes with fundamental electrical engineering skills.

The Architectural Engineering Programme provides state-of-the-art knowledge and skills that reflect a flexible pace to match the fast growth of emerging technologies employed in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industries to meet national, MENA and international market demands. Thus, achieving the BUE’s and the Faculty of Engineering’s key objectives to promote cultural, economic, social and technological development via capable Architectural Engineering graduates, educated to the best UK academic standards.

The Economics programme has two central activities, first to train students at the undergraduate level in the methods and ideas of modern economics. Second is to conduct both basic and applied research in economics that pushes forward the frontier of knowledge in the field.

The programme aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain an appreciation of national and international perspectives on many aspects of professional life; which in turn can facilitate graduate career paths in various fields, like the diplomatic service, journalism, academia, law, and non-governmental development organisations. This includes awareness of regional politics, cultural sensitivity, exposure to international politics, and familiarity with legal and economic frameworks.
