Bachelors in Civil Engineering (Building Environment) Within the specialization of Building Environment of the study program of Civil Engineering, students are prepared for application in the area of designing and realization of technical equipment of buildings (sanitary, heating, ventilation, gas distribution, electrical installation) in residential, civil, industrial and agricultural buildings and in areas of energy performance of buildings focusing on the application of alternative and renewable energy sources in buildings.

The Faculty of Installation Engineering (FII) was established in 1949. The Faculty trains engineers specializing in the design, construction and operation of all systems in a building: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water and wastewater supply, lighting, aspects of building security (fire safety, burglary protection, etc.), energy production and distribution systems (thermal and cooling installations, renewable energies, heat distribution, electricity distribution), building automation and management systems. This field covers both the existing built environment, its rehabilitation and the design and construction of the built environment of the future.

BCE is a three-year Bachelor's program, entirely delivered in English, focused on the Building itself, which aims to train engineers with wide-ranging international professional experience. Civil engineers are experts in buildings - from planning to construction, from renovation to demolition. They plan, construct, monitor, they take on managerial and coordinating roles within construction teams and they learn to evaluate their designs and constructions mathematically using the latest technologies - both in the areas of safety and functionality as well as in terms of costs. With the help of building physics knowledge and knowledge in the field of building technology and building automation, civil engineers optimize new and existing building structures.

Our BSc (Hons) Building Surveying course is accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building Engineers (CABE) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) meaning your skills will be of the highest industry standards. The objective of the program is to train engineers specialised in the design, development, construction, operation and maintenance of HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning). Building services engineers can carry out diagnostic tests, identify and develop energy-saving possibilities and methods for HVAC systems. They have in-depth theoretical knowledge to continue their studies in the second cycle.

You will learn to plan, implement and maintain the technical entities of a building such as electricity and HVAC planning and related building automation solutions. You will study e.g. mathematic-scientific theories, planning and implementation skills, product development and the idea of maintenance concept during the life cycle of building services engineering.
