Unleash your creative vision and hone your artistic abilities in Northern's fine art program, in which you'll develop advanced visual design skills and be trained to master the use of traditional studio media and tools. We have the resources you need to study art history, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, painting, drawing, design and mixed media. All classes are taught by caring, supportive professors and instructors, and our fully equipped facilities include upgrades for health and safety. Northern has one of the nicest art studios in the region, and seniors have the opportunity to work in a private studio. Student work can be showcased in one of three galleries located in modern and historic campus spaces.

The studio art track is designed to prepare students for careers in the fine arts in areas such as drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, or printmaking. It may also serve as a foundation for graduate study in fine arts.

Students studying fine art gain basic experience in the artistic processes of several different studio areas. Candidates choose a primary area of concentration from painting, ceramics, printmaking, and textiles. The secondary emphasis may be chosen from painting, ceramics, printmaking, textiles, drawing, photography, sculpture, or graphic design.

The Department of Fine Arts at Northern Academy of the Arts teaches the essence of traditional Chinese and Western art forms. Our Fine Arts Program seeks to help students develop noble character, proper aesthetics, solid artistic skills, and creative thinking, all of which lays the foundation in Fine Arts for college studies in both arts and non-arts majors.

Choosing just one area of study isn’t right for everyone.
