    Learning about past cultures and their influences on modern day civilizations is typically the focus of an ancient history program. Courses in a program may include Greek political structure, Roman texts, Latin language studies and religious beliefs.

    Officially known as the Italian Republic, the country is found in southern Europe. The official language is Italian and the cultural rich capital is Rome. Many of the world's oldest universities are located in Italy, in particular the University of Bologna (founded in 1088).     Earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is an academic achievement upon completing a series of courses over the course of three or four years. The subjects that are studied in order to earn this degree vary widely under the disciplines of the liberal arts and sciences.
