Why

Designing means transforming the world, starting from the simplest things to the most complex. Design is not just a discipline that teaches us to invent and improve material life: it is a model that teaches us how the planes of small and large are linked by invisible threads. It is the art of change, responsibility and commitment.

Professional opportunities

The Interior designer is a designer able to face spaces of various sizes and complexity, capable of translating messages and atmospheres of a brand or a private client, into spaces with tangible solutions, bearers of messages, emotions and meaning. He is a key figure for architecture and design studios, event agencies, television and film studios, for the design offices of companies in the furniture and accessories sector. For his specific preparation he can also face a career as a critic and

scholar of the furnishing and interiors system or of consultant and artistic director for companies in the fashion and design sector.

To whom it is addressed

The course is aimed at those with a high school diploma and students from Italian or foreign universities. A specific interest is required in the disciplines of the project for spaces (domestic, for offices, for reception, for meeting places and commercial); of the conception and design of environments for exhibit design and for furnishings for the home, for work and leisure; for the study and consistent application of decoration, the use of materials, lighting and furnishing accessories). The student must also demonstrate aptitude for the study of social behavior, the culture of visual arts and socio-cultural trends. The participants are future designers of environments and communicative atmospheres, attentive interpreters of contemporary trends and lifestyles.

Program

A preliminary phase (First year) is followed by an intermediate study (Second year) and a completion path dedicated to the final project-portfolio (Third year). From the theoretical foundations of design and representation, of the history of applied arts and architecture for domestic spaces, we then face increasingly complex socio-cultural scenarios linked to the world of business, the evolution of customs and lifestyle , of the relationship of brands with users and consumers, in search of those design solutions able to provide the most advanced and sustainable answers to improve the quality of life, the workplace, leisure time.

Student of the year

At the end of each academic year, RM awards the best talent of each year of the course.

The recognition is given to the student who, for academic career and portfolio, has distinguished himself in the evaluation of both a commission of internal teachers and that of a commission of external professionals, called in this case to judge a portfolio guaranteed by anonymity.

In the case of classes consisting of 20 students, the official RM recognition is also associated with the full reimbursement of the annual fee paid by the Student of the year.

They are part of a cohesive and fertile group, and they enjoy comparing the progress of the courses, the opportunities that arise in the race and the performance of individual students.

Monday Talk

Every Monday evening, at 6.30 pm Raffles Milano invites students to meet a great character from the design scene, the style and the culture of the project. Listening directly to the stories and ideas that influence the market and advance our mindsets is an opportunity of great depth, which goes to supplement the academic programs. Here are the meetings next year.

Admissions

Applications for admission can be sent through the "Request Admission" form to be completed at the bottom of the page, or by direct telephone contact with the secretariat. Upon receipt of the requested documents and a motivational letter drawn up by the Candidate, the Direction sets the date for a cognitive interview with the Course leader or the College Director: it is a moment of open confrontation in which the Candidate can clearly explain the personal motivations and be informed about the Institute's guidelines (commitment, dedication, behavior, general teaching regulations). Candidates, if the result of the interview has been positive, are sent the official response to accept the admission request, which in any case remains non-binding for the Candidate.

Following the official communication of the Directorate on the admissibility of the Candidate, it is possible to proceed with the registration phase. All students in possession of the requisites - at the time of formal registration - must pay the registration fee, to which must be integrated the annual fee (established according to the four categories of family income brackets).

The amount can be paid in a single installment, or in two other installments after the registration: the second by the beginning of the First Semester, the third by the beginning of the Second Semester.

A further solution is the possibility of a monthly payment in ten separate installments, of which the first is the one at the time of enrollment (registration fee before the annual tuition fee) and the last one within the ninth month following registration .

European Union and EFTA students

Annual enrollment fee according to the four categories of ISEE family income brackets:

  • I Income range up to 40,000 euros
  • Registration fee: 3,000 euros
  • Annual tuition fee: 5,000 euros

Admission fee

To apply for admission to the Triennale, an admission fee of 100 euros must be paid.
