E5 - "Vacuum and compressor technology"

In 2020, the department E5 - “Vacuum and Compressor Engineering” conducts recruitment in the specialty 15.05.01 “Designing of technological machines and complexes” in four main research areas and specializations: “Compressor machines and installations”, “Vacuum machines and installations”, “Pneumatic systems and pneumatic units ”, “ Design of oil and gas complexes ”.

The wide profile of the graduates of the department is explained very simply: vacuum and compressor technology is widely used in almost all areas of human activity, so that a specialist in this field will always be in demand. Graduates of the department have no problems with employment, including the most prestigious ones, enterprises and firms, since all the leading industries (aerospace, aviation, defense, nuclear, electronic, gas, oil, chemical, medical, biotechnological, transport) are widely used vacuum and compressor machines, pneumatic systems and pneumatic units.

On the basis of fundamental engineering training and the study of the cycle of special disciplines, graduates of the department are professionally prepared for active creative activity in those areas of technology where it is required: research of work processes, design development, design and manufacture of vacuum and compressor equipment, pneumatic systems and assemblies for a wide range of latest technologies ; operation of vacuum and compressor units and pneumatic systems in various industries; the use of modern information technologies and computer technology for scientific research, the creation and development of vacuum, compressor and pneumatic systems for various purposes.

MT1 Metal-cutting machines

The department "Metal-cutting machines" , organized in 1930, provides training for specialists in the specialty 15.05.01 "Design of technological machines and complexes " in the specialization "Design of metal-cutting machines and automated machine complexes . "

The main directions of the scientific work of the department: computer-aided design and testing of machine tools; precision and productivity of machines; intellectual complexes of control and diagnostics of machines; design of mechatronic equipment.

Scientific projects and research areas: Development of testing methods for multi-purpose machining centers for high-speed processing. The department is working together with the Franhofer Institute in Germany, the training of teachers at Kistler AG (Switzerland) and Demonfort University of Leicester (Great Britain).

Students undergo practical training (often with subsequent employment) at leading enterprises in the machine-building industry: VGUP "NPU gas turbine" Salyut ", JSC NPO Energomash named after Acad. Graduates are in demand by leading enterprises in the engineering, aerospace, transport, energy, and defense industries; institutions of small and medium business (jewelry industry, prosthetics), as well as innovative research centers (Skolkovo, Rusnano, Rosatom).

MT2 Instrumentation and technology

The department "Tool Technique and Technologies ", created in 1930, provides training for specialists in the specialty 15.05.01 "Design of technological machines and complexes " in the specialization "Design of machining and tool complexes of mechanical engineering" .

The department is one of the first domestic educational and scientific schools in the field of technology of mechanical and physical-technical processing of materials and tooling.

Among the areas of scientific work of the department: the development of highly efficient processes of mechanical and physical-technical processing, the management of computerized processing complexes, the study of superhard instrumental materials; micro and nano-cutting of metal materials and composites.

The field of professional activity of graduates includes: developing ideas, designing, manufacturing and operating various technical objects for engineering, rocket and space, aviation, instrument-making, medical, woodworking and other industries.

Students of the department undergo practical training at the enterprises: JSC Concern East Kazakhstan Almaz-Antey; RSC Energia OJSC named after S.P. Queen; Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Production Center for Gas Turbine Engineering" Salyut ". Students also have internships in educational institutions in Europe (France, Germany, Czech Republic).

Graduates of the department have working skills in computer-aided design systems, participate in design and development work on creating technological complexes of mechanical engineering, and developing fundamentally new types of technological processes for physical and technical processing.

MT3 Engineering Technologies

The department "Engineering Technologies" , created in 1930, provides training for specialists in the specialty 15.05.01 "Design of technological machines and complexes " in the specialization "Design of technological complexes of mechanical assembly production" .

Field of professional activity of graduates: development of assembly technological processes; manufacturing of general engineering products, mechanical devices of radio engineering systems; development and implementation of advanced technological processes; design of technological complexes of mechanical assembly production; design and commissioning of new production facilities, technical re-equipment and reconstruction of existing ones; design and operation of intelligent technological systems; design of assembly equipment, tooling and tools.

The main directions of the scientific work of the department: technological heredity in various conditions of the engineering object; directed formation of the quality of engineering products in multiply connected technological environments; automation of technological solutions support; development of technological schemes for the formation of surfaces from difficult materials with electric current pulses; increasing the accuracy of processing on CNC machines; the formation of the optimal structure of technological complexes; improving the quality of assembly of adhesive joints.

Students of the department undergo practical training on the basis of organizations: OJSC RSC Energia named after S.P. MT5 Foundry Technology

The department "Foundry technologies" , organized in 1930, provides training for specialists in the specialty 05.15.01 "Design of technological machines and complexes " with a specialization in "Design of technological machines and complexes of foundry production" .

Among the areas of scientific work of the department are the following: mathematical modeling of the processes of manufacturing molds, as well as processes of pouring and hardening of metal in the mold; study of the design of foundry machines; optimization of control systems for automatic foundry complexes; obtaining optimal compositions of molding and core mixtures.

Students undergo practical training (often with subsequent employment) at leading enterprises in the engineering industry: Aviation Corporation Rubin, PAO KAMAZ, CJSC Tyazhpromarmatura, State Unitary Enterprise NPU Gas Turbine-Building Salyut.

The professional activity of the graduates of the department is associated with the design of advanced technologies in foundry production (both in industry and in the field of jewelry casting); design, modernization and commissioning of modern equipment and automatic complexes; development of management systems; conducting research on a wide range of tasks.

Graduates are in demand by the enterprises of the machine-building industry: OKB Sukhoi, ZAO Tyazhpromarmatura, and VGUP NPU Gas Turbine-Building Salyut.

MT6 Pressure Processing Technologies

The department "Technology of pressure processing" , organized in 1930, provides training for specialists in the specialty 15.05.01 "Design of technological machines and complexes " in the specialization "Design of technological complexes in forging and stamping" .

Students from France, Germany, China, Syria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine are studying at the department. The essence of the specialty is the ability to control the flow of metal, sequentially applying heating, deformation and cooling, due to this, to achieve a special structure of the material, which means to achieve special improved properties.

The area of professional activity of graduates is: designing machines; design of technological processes of pressure treatment; the ability to control the flow of metal to obtain parts of a given shape, sequentially applying heating, deformation, cooling; Robotics, systems and controls.

MT7 Welding and Diagnostics Technologies

The Department of Welding and Diagnostics Technologies , established in 1933, provides training for specialists in the specialty 15.05.01 “Designing of technological machines and complexes” in the specializations: “Production of welded structures”, “Diagnostics and life extension of welded structures”, “Control and quality management in the welding industry .

The department is currently undergoing rapid development: new welding technologies and equipment have been developed (including for welding in space); automated systems based on neural network models; theory of welding strains and stresses, which is the engineering basis for the use of welding in production. Promising research areas are open: diagnostics of welded structures and assessment of the residual life of technical devices and structures.

Field of professional activity of graduates: development of technological processes for the manufacture of welded structures and products for various purposes; diagnostics and life extension of welded joints and structures; design of equipment and technological robotic complexes of welding production; design and operation of automated welding plants; design and operation of instruments and equipment for weld control. Students of 5-6 courses are given the opportunity to confirm their qualifications in an independent certification body as non-destructive testing specialists and welding engineers, which significantly increases the attractiveness of the department’s graduates in the labor market.

Directions of research work: weldability, reliability and resource of welded structures; technology development and automation of welding processes; ultrasound diagnostics of welded products.

MT10 Equipment and rolling technology

The department “Equipment and rolling technologies ”, founded in 1949, provides training for specialists of the specialty 05.15.01 “Design of technological machines and complexes with a specialization in “Design of technological complexes of rolling production” .

The department carries out scientific research related to the production of large-diameter welded pipes for the oil and gas industry, improving the design of pipe rolling units for producing small-diameter pipes, developing a new multilayer material with an ultrafine-grained structure, solving deformation and thermal problems. All studies include finite element calculations in modern software systems.

The training laboratory consists of compact rolling mills and auxiliary equipment, such as heating furnaces, scissors, and cleaning plants.

Students of the department undergo practical training at the enterprises of the metallurgical industry: Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, Lipetsk; NLMK, the city of Kaluga; Vyksa Metallurgical Plant, Vyksa, Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant; NII: AO AKHK VNIIMETMASH, TsNICHermet them. Scope of professional activity of graduates: scientific research in the field of: continuous casting of steel, hot and cold rolling, powder metallurgy, pipe and roll forming production; development of new processes and equipment for rental; computer simulation of technological processes; organizational and managerial activities, both in the field of developing new technologies and in the implementation of investment projects.

Graduates of the department work as leading designers, technologists, heads of departments of research organizations and enterprises of the metallurgical and engineering industries.

MT12 Laser technology in mechanical engineering

The department "Laser technologies in mechanical engineering" , founded in 1981, provides training for specialists of the specialty 05.15.01 "Design of technological machines and complexes " in the specialization "Design of industrial technological complexes using highly concentrated energy flows" .

The main areas of scientific activity of the department: traditional laser technology: cutting; welding; surface treatment and new directions: additive technologies; stereolithography, carried out by layer-by-layer rejection of a liquid photopolymer under the action of laser radiation.

The field of professional activity of graduates is associated with laser technology and technology. Students study and develop modern laser equipment based on the latest developments in quantum physics and engineering.

Electronic engineering is a field of science and technology engaged in the study of phenomena, research and development of technological processes, equipment and control systems for the production of vacuum devices, integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, radio components and other electronic products. Electronic technology - the processing of materials by high-energy particle flows, gas-discharge plasma and radiation, so they are often also called electronic, ionic, plasma or elion technologies. Students undergo practical training on the basis of: “Moscow Center for Laser Technology”, UC “Ray”.
