Students majoring in organizational communication will be immersed in the culture, history and visual elements of the English language.

The addition of a firm background in business gives students the edge they need when entering a job market where communication is key.

Courses in public speaking, media writing, public relations, human resources management, and desktop publishing are just a sample of the versatility that comes with this degree, preparing students for an array of career options in fields such as public relations, journalism, and social work. In addition, students have gone on to become lobbyists, research analysts, and audio-visual technicians. Students are schooled in the history and background of literature and English, while given a foundation in marketing and management. In line with Keuka College's hands-on learning mission, students are given the chance to lead and design class presentations in a unique, interactive experience.

Aside from the experiential learning students will have in class, students in this career-oriented major are required to complete a 140-hour Field Period every year, as well as an additional 80 hours in their senior practicum. When entering the job market or graduate school, Keuka College students can be confident in their ability to work well with a team and be a leader. In addition, their resume will reflect the experience and knowledge they will have gained.

Keuka College also offers a minor in Communication Studies that would supplement other programs from the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts, including American Sign Language and English.
