The Diploma in Vocals, Piano, Guitar, Keyboard, Drums and Bass provides students with the opportunity to become highly skilled artist-teachers who are prepared to teach music in settings.
Established in 1887, the London College of Music Examinations (LCME) is one of the longest-established exam boards for the creative arts in the UK and the only one that is part of a leading British university, the University of West London.
Our diplomas are internationally recognised and include composition, conducting, thesis and theoretical diplomas as well as performing and teaching diplomas in all instruments and drama/communication subjects.
Candidates are required to achieve 75% to attain the diploma qualification.
In the UK, LCM's diploma examinations are regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA at Levels 4 to 7 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework. The diplomas are also included in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
The lesson will take place once a week for two hours with live teachers. All the materials of study will be provided and are included in the monthly quota. At the end of each year, the student will gain a prestigious certification. The student can choose to take all three certifications, for a duration of three years or to only take one, completing the course in one year.
There are two sessions, one in September and one in April. If we receive a higher number of requests, we can activate more sessions. The cost of the program is 240 euros per month, excluding the exam quota.
Year one: Diploma of The London College of Music (DPLCM) in Teaching
Year two: Associate of The London College of Music (ALCM) in Teaching
Year three: Licentiate of The London College of Music (ALCM) in Teaching

DipLCM in Teaching: Year One
This diploma requires the candidate to demonstrate the fundamental skills and understanding required by a competent instrumental music teacher, consistent with a Level 1 (first-year) undergraduate module. Examiners will expect to encounter evidence of solid basic teaching skills, a performance technique which equips the candidate to demonstrate pieces with clarity and confidence, and the ability to communicate appropriate knowledge and understanding with verbal articulacy.
ALCM in Teaching: Year Two
This diploma requires the candidate to demonstrate the skills and understanding required by a competent and proficient instrumental music teacher, consistent with a Level 2 (second-year) undergraduate module. Examiners will expect to encounter evidence of accomplished and confdent teaching skills, a performance technique which equips the candidate to demonstrate pieces with clarity and authority, and the ability to communicate appropriate knowledge and understanding with clear verbal articulacy.
LLCM in Teaching: Year Three
This diploma demands a fully professional standard of teaching, musicianship and educational skills, consistent with a Level 3 (final-year) undergraduate module. Evidence of experience and expertise as a teacher, a secure and versatile performance technique, and the ability to communicate a tangible sense of understanding and insight into the teaching process will be expected.

Candidates must have already passed one of the following:
Grade 5 Theory (LCM Theory of Music or Popular Music Theory, ABRSM or TCL)
GCSE or O level music (Grade C or above)
CSE music (Grade 1)
AS, A2 or A level music (Grade D or above)
Scottish Certificate of Education (Standard or Higher)
Junior or Leaving Certificate (Republic of Ireland)
We can allow candidates without previous certifications to apply only if they show a sufficient level of playing and if they add the Grade 5 Theory Course to their program of study.
