Program Description

Higher education in the field of Civil Engineering was born in Romania in 1864 by the establishment in Bucharest of the School of Bridges and Roads, Mines and Architecture. This is called, from 1888 National School of Bridges and Roads, being the first Technical University in Romania. The Bucharest Constructions Technical University (UTCB) is currently the only university in Romania having as general specialty only civil engineering. UTCB is a State University, accredited by ARACIS (Romanian Agency for Quality in Higher Education - listed in EQAR) and the Ministry of Education of Romania (MEN) with '' high degree of trust''.

The Faculty of Engineering Installations (FII) was born in 1949. For her profile, unique in Europe, the Faculty provides training of engineers specializing in the design, construction and operation of all facilities of construction: comfort facilities (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitary, lighting, etc. .), safety installations (anti fire, burglar, etc.), production and distribution of energy facilities (power plants and cooling, renewable sources of energy, heat distribution, distribution of electricity, etc.) and automation systems and automatic management. This area covers the existing built environment, rehabilitation of it and also the design and construction of the built environment of the future. The activity of the engineering facilities is closely linked with the activity of architects and civil engineers. Today, the staff is formed by 112 teachers and 28 support staff who train 1420 students: Licence (2 channels "Installations for buildings", a Romanian and one in French, and die "Installations for the protection of the atmosphere "), Master (4 channels: 1 in french, energy efficiency installations for buildings', in co-graduation Masters with the University of La Rochelle 3 in Romanian: energy efficiency installations for buildings', 'Energy, comfort and sustainable development', 'efficient technologies for the protection of the urban environment') and doctorate (PhD in civil engineering and facilities).

Training in French: 'Installations for buildings' began in 1994. Since then, 155 students obtained an engineering degree. The die is accredited by ARACIS and MEN Romania. The teachers in this sector followed, in most cases, training courses, research courses, educational courses, DEA, Masters and / or PhD in partner universities of the Francophone world.

Lessons.

The training is based on three pillars: thermal, hydraulic and electrical (basic technical disciplines). On this basis, and on the study of thermal devices, hydraulic machinery and electrical machinery, from the third year develop learning specialty disciplines, ie disciplines' systems installations for buildings' heating, ventilation, air conditioning and air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pumps, sanitary, Antifire, electrical, lighting, automation.

Each discipline has applications (projects). In the second part of last semester, an internship is required to attain the license project (dedicated in principle to design an installation system). In the first three years of practical training carried out in companies are provided with the possibility of hiring over periods determined.

Diploma, The Skills and Professional Career.

The Diploma of Higher Education Romanian Public obtained in the domain "Facilities Constructions (Civil Engineering)" is officially recognized in all EU member countries. The skills obtained allow to work in assembly facilities in design (for low complexity systems) and operation of facilities in buildings. Depth knowledge of FUNCTIONING of facility systems provides the ability to evaluate existing systems (technical inspection by audit and energy certification and functional diagnosis), anticipate the behavior of buildings and their systems and also to realize their effective use.

With the bachelor's degree and in particular with the knowledge gained, engineering facilities in the majority of cases an adequate job in engineering facilities (see survey). The license is normally followed by the Master, which complements the skills of a whole share to engineer.
