The International Undergraduate Program (IUP) of Psychology marks an important milestone in our 50-year contribution to society. As part of our commitment to preparing graduates to meet the global challenge of the 21st century, we invite spirited and passionate young people from different parts of Indonesia and from across the globe to be part of this exciting journey and make a difference in their local and global communities. The Program is regionally-accredited and certified by ASEAN University Network; it has many international partners, offers a unique educational experience in which students can explore psychology from the cultural, indigenous, and spiritual lens; as well from the state-of-the-art lens of neurosciences.

Why Psychology at UGM?

Psychology is a study of mind, brain, and behavior, and is one of the most vibrant and rapidly changing fields of study. The field covers a wide range of topics such as perception, thoughts, emotions, and actions –from infancy to old age– as well as social phenomena in group, organizational, educational, and cultural settings.

Our faculty offers an excellent educational experience for our students to deepen their knowledge in psychology. In this faculty, we study the complexity of human behavior from various angles –from the bio-neurological to the socio-cultural. Our academic staff is spearheading the national scholarships in the area of cognitive neuroscience, mental health, as well as indigenous psychology. As a leading psychology program in Indonesia, our faculty has attracted the most talented students from within the country and from around the world, who consider us their home. Admission Requirements

  1. Senior high school (SMA) or equivalent (Graduates of 2019, 2018, 2017)
  2. Indonesian high school qualification: good academic records
  3. English language proficiency as indicated by TOEFL score of at least 500 (ITP), or 59-60 (IBT), or IELTS (5.0)
  4. Good academic capability as indicated by Gadjah Mada Scholastic Test (GMST)

Admission Procedures

  1. Sign up for an application account.
  2. Complete the online application form and upload the necessary documents (minimum 150 kb and maximum 800 kb).
  3. Pay the non-refundable application fee via multiple payment systems (IDR 1,5 million).
  4. Print application form. If you cannot print your application form or of your online application fails, please contact us.
  5. Admission Card can be printed on the day as mentioned in your application account.
  6. Applicants registering on the last date of the intake, the application fee due date is on the same day before 23:59.

Academic Life

Students make the most of their experience not just in the classroom, but also beyond. The faculty of psychology provides engaging academic and extracurricular activities for our students. Opportunities to get involved, have fun, and grow are designed to be part of the faculty’s campus life. Under close mentoring of the faculty members, many of our undergraduate students are active in presenting and publishing their research in national and international forums. The faculty also has seven different student organizations tailored to the diverse interests of the students, including its nationally renowned Student Mountaineering Club, as well as other clubs such as Student Government Association, Student Theater Club, and Student Media.
