The meaning attributed to the definitions of “restoration” and “conservation” has changed over the centuries and is subject to continuous changes in relation to ‘the evolution of thought on the subject of conservation and its complex relations to artistic, social, philosophical and historical.
The Aldo Galli Academy of Fine Arts has over 35 years of experience in the field of restoration of Cultural Heritage.
The public and private clients who have entrusted us with numerous restorations have allowed us to teach our students “on the job”. The students participate actively in every restoration developing technical expertise in various fields and use the latest up to date scientific methods.
The close interdisciplinary nature of the materials helped the students to build a mindset, able to grasp the complexity of the artwork conservation in a country like Italy where the widespread dissemination of the artistic heritage represents one of the only few truly sustainable challenges for the future.
