General

Program Description

The magic of big events is endless and has always inspired people all over the world. As an expert in event management, events of all kinds are your profession and your passion. In this programme, you will master the professional conception, planning, promotion, implementation and analysis of events of all types and sizes.


Contents of the Event Management (B.A.) programme

The event management programme includes theories, models, methods and concepts of event management and the professional design and implementation of events. In addition, there are lessons in media and advertising psychology, controlling and the legal framework of events. The co-operation with agencies, organisers, contractors and artists is also part of the course content.

In addition to your acquired professional skills, you will train in project groups and develop your personal qualities such as team spirit, self-motivation and self-confidence. For this programme, the curriculum includes:

  • Basics of event management
  • Customer experience management
  • Live entertainment
  • Digital business
  • Artist management and music marketing
  • Special topics in event management

Internship

Macromedia cooperates with a large number of renowned companies where you will spend a full semester as an intern. You gain practical experience under the supervision of your professors and can start networking with the industry.

Fully accredited semester abroad

Students also spend one fully-accredited semester abroad at one of our worldwide partner universities and gain intensive international experience during their studies.

Degree awarded

Students on this B.A. programme are awarded one of the following bachelor's degrees:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Media Management with specialisation in Event Management
  • Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Event Management

Future career opportunities

This B.A. programme open doors to the organiser and event industry, in the marketing or event department of a large company, at an event agency, or as an event organiser, e.g. in the music or trade fair sector. Career prospects include positions as:

  • Event manager
  • Marketing and Sponsoring Manager
  • Start-up entrepreneur
  • Event-Strategic Planner
  • Marketing Manager
  • Artist manager

Admission requirements

Admission requirements are as follows:

  • Recognised secondary school leaving certificate
  • English language proficiency certificate
    - TOEFL (at least 72 out of 120)
    - IELTS (at least 6 out of 9)
  • CV (curriculum vitae)
  • Letter of motivation
  • Personal interview (optional)
