Presentation

It is an "institutional program of double degree", regulated by the Regulations on Double Degrees and Simultaneity of Official Teachings of the USAL (Governing Council of 29/2/2011), was approved by the Government Council of the USAL of 26/06 / 2014 and has been implemented in the 2015-16 academic year.

It comes from the Degree in Materials Engineering and the Degree in Mechanical Engineering that, after passing their respective verification processes, began to be taught at the USAL in the 2013-14 and 2010-11 academic years, respectively. It works as a specific curriculum (with specific code and a certain number of places offered annually, 20), consists of a total of 346.5 ECTS distributed over 11 semesters (5.5 academic years), at the rate of 60 credits for the first two years, 64.5 credits for the third, 66 credits for the fourth and fifth, and 30 credits for the last half year. By type of subject, the 346.5 ECTS are distributed as follows: 60 of Basic Training, 256.5 of Compulsory, 6 of Optional and 24 of Final Degree Work.115642_zamora_doblegrado_materiales_mecanica.jpg

Requires the student full-time dedication and, by the Degree in Mechanical Engineering, qualifies to practice the regulated profession of Industrial Technical Engineer (Order CIN / 351/2009, BOE 20/02/2009).

Students will go to the class group of origin of each of the Degrees, according to the corresponding subject. In the cases in which the subject of the Degree of origin has several groups of practices, the students will be incorporated to one of the groups of practices of the same one, the one that is more convenient for the hourly compatibility.

The objectives and general and specific competences of this double degree are those of the Degree in Materials Engineering and those of the Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Admission profile

This Double Degree is designed for students with capacity for scientific reasoning and solving real problems that allow them to project, direct and coordinate all activities related to Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In addition to the essential habit of work, dedication to study and taste for the challenges posed in Engineering.

It is suggested to have passed the Bachiller, preferably the subjects of Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Physics and Chemistry, and later the entrance exams to the University.

Access, Pre-registration, Admission and Registration

New Entry: The first year of implementation will be 20 places for new students entering the Double Degree, number that will be reviewed annually. In the admission process, the weighting criteria of Baccalaureate subjects for the PAUs foreseen for both Degrees will be applied.

Continuity of studies:

  • Students will be enrolled in the Dual Degree curriculum, whether it is for new enrollment subjects or subjects in which full-time enrollment is repeated, with a minimum of 42 credits and a maximum of 90 credits. The number may be lower when so is the number of credits that remain to be overcome (Regulations of Permanence approved in the Governing Council of April 2014).
  • The students of the Degree in Materials Engineering and the Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Universidad de Salamanca that request it, will be able to access the Double Degree, by means of the application that will include the request for the recognition of the credits completed.

Pending Subjects: The student must always enroll in the basic education subjects that are pending.

Permanency Units: The Permanence Regulations are applied to the designed curriculum of the Double Degree, with the student being able to use a maximum of 22 permanency units.

The Center will solve the requests for access to the Double Degree from the qualifications of other Universities based on the effective number of new entry access to the Double Degree and the merits of the applicants.

  • Requests for students with partial Spanish university studies from another university and / or official Spanish university studies and a minimum of 30 ECTS credits.
  • Requests for students with partial or full foreign university studies who have not obtained the homologation of their degree in Spain and a minimum of 30 ECTS is recognized.
  • Applications for students with partial Spanish university studies taken at our university and a minimum of 30 ECTS credits.

The student will present the application for admission to continue studies at the Secretariat of the Higher Polytechnic School of Zamora, and will include the form for recognition of the credits taken.

Access roads are officially recognized and regulated by law for access to official undergraduate university education.

There is no specific test for access to the studies of this Double Degree. The ordering and awarding of places within the planned quota of 20 students will be made according to the admission grade.

The minimum number of ECTS of enrollment per student and school period is 60 ECTS, that is, the double degree can only be completed in the full-time mode, and the maximum number is 72 ECTS, allowing students to enroll more credits of the scheduled per course. In any case, this maximum limit and other rights and restrictions that affect enrollment will be determined by the Permanence Regulations and the Dual Qualifications and Simultaneity Regulations of the USAL .
