What is systems engineering?
It is a program related to information systems, their structure, maintenance and automation and their implementation for people and organizations. A career that does not lose validity, but is constantly updated with information and communication technologies, which will continue to be the essential technological support for the development of all fields of science and technology and social sciences, the government , education and entertainment.
Why study Systems Engineering and Computing?
Because information and communication technologies are and will continue to be the essential technological support for the development of all fields of science and technology and social sciences, government, education and entertainment.
Because the national and world productive sector is in need of increasing amounts of engineers from this branch for their development projects and because Colombian government projects such as the "Plan Vive Digital" and "The Development of the IT Sector as a World Class" promote projects that require the training of large numbers of professionals in this field.
Because among the challenges identified for Engineering in the 21st century, according to the National Science Foundation and the National Association of Engineers of the United States are several where this branch of engineering is called to play a leading role or support; among them "protect cyberspace", "advance in personalized learning", "enrich virtual reality", "advance in health informatics" and "reverse engineer the brain".
The Systems and Computing Engineering program of the Universidad EIA is developed in face-to-face mode, supported by information and communication technologies as educational resources that mediate learning.
Due to the training in engineering, the program implements the active learning methodology that links the student to the solution of problems of his professional field and makes him more involved in his training through the development of experimental practices, business experiences, studies of cases and learning projects, among others.
The classes are designed as academic work environments where the student reflects, discusses with arguments and proposes alternative solutions to different engineering problems under the guidance of a transforming teacher of ways of thinking and acting of his students to contribute with the training of better human beings and professionals.
