Program Description

What is Industrial Engineering?

An industrial engineer is able to improve the productivity and competitiveness of organizations through the continuous improvement of processes for the production of goods and the provision of services.

Why study industrial engineering?

  • To design and improve work systems that include people, equipment, materials, information, energy and money.
  • Contribute to the competitiveness of the country from the development of organizations and society, contributing to human well-being and positively impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems production of goods and the provision of services.
  • To seek continuous improvement, normalization and interaction of the supply chain of organizations, contributing from the integral management of the value network to the development of the country in a globalized environment and following the principles of ethics, justice and social responsability.

Methodology

The Industrial Engineering program develops its learning methodology in person, defining the classroom as an academic learning environment that allows interaction, dialogue and reflection, characteristics that should be the common denominator of the training process in the EIA. For this reason, and in order to develop a work that develops in an active and participatory way the training process of the students, the classes in the EIA are designed within the framework of readings, exercises, consultations, workshops and other previous activities guarantee the active and effective participation of students in class.

The design of the contents of the classes in turn includes the use of physical and digital educational resources to achieve a greater understanding of the objects that are studied. These educational support resources are aligned with the formative intention and are used to broaden students' understanding and learning. Within this methodological proposal Engineering projects seek to propose solutions to real problems of engineering through the gradual integration of the different elements of the problem and the application of the engineering method.
