Program Outcome
As of 2006/07, NOVA started to offer a Degree in Conservation-Restoration and a Masters in Conservation and Restoration, integrated in the new 3 study cycles proposed for University Higher Education.
The degree program that NOVA offers aims at solid scientific and technical preparation divided into two phases. The first is characterized, essentially, by learning basic knowledge in the fundamental sciences and understanding the fundamental role they play in the education of conservators/restorers. The second focuses on the practice of Conservation and Restoration methods and techniques. A professional internship completes the theoretical and practical training acquired in the previous four years, in a scenario close to the conditions of independent professional practice.
The degree in Conservation will contribute to the implementation of good C&L practices and will be an agent of innovation and improvement of methodologies and techniques for safeguarding our cultural heritage.
