Our nation’s success has been built on the foundation of our solid infrastructure. Today, thousands of public works projects in the United States are in desperate need of repair and many more new infrastructure developments are necessary to keep our country competitive in the global community. There has never been a greater need for talented civil and environmental engineers to plan, execute, and lead these important projects.

Western New England University’s new Civil Engineering major focuses on the latest advances in the design, construction, and maintenance of society’s infrastructure—roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, water treatment and supply networks, and environmental systems. You will gain expertise in major areas of civil engineering:

  • structural engineering
  • transportation engineering
  • geotechnical engineering
  • water resources engineering
  • environmental engineering
  • construction engineering

You will also study alternative/renewable energy, sustainable materials, and green buildings.

Civil Engineering majors can choose to concentrate in:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Reservoir Engineering
