The Bachelor's Programme in Technology and Engineering Science enables you to become an expert in multidisciplinary fields of engineering.

The Bachelor's degree gives you a sound basis and direct route to further studies in LUT Master's programmes in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology or environmental technology. As a student in this Bachelor's programme, you are entitled to continue your studies directly at the Master's level at LUT.

This Bachelor's degree gives you a sound basis and direct route to further studies in LUT Master's programmes in the fields of electrical engineering, energy technology, environmental engineering or mechanical engineering. As a student in this Bachelor's programme, you are entitled to continue your studies at the Master's level at LUT.
The Bachelor's Programme in Technology and Energy Science is a 3 years programme. It leads to the degree of Bachelor's of Science in Technology, B.Sc. (Tech.), which is 180 ECTS credits.
The programme includes general, intermediate specialisation, and language and communication studies.
General studies (101 ECTS credits) include courses on engineering mathematics and physics, engineering mechanics, engineering thermodynamics, 3D modelling and technical documentation, electrical power engineering and electrical drives, power plant engineering, business and sustainability.
Intermediate specialisation studies (64 ECTS credits). In the second year, you will specialise in one of four fields:
- electrical engineering
- energy technology
- mechanical engineering
- environmental technology
The specialisation studies include project-based learning (20 ECTS credits), and a Bachelor's thesis and seminar (12 ECTS credits).
Language and communication studies, 15 ECTS credits.

How to Apply
The next application period is 7 January − 20 January 2021 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
There are 2 different paths to follow when applying:
- Applying with an SAT Test
Holders of any other comparable qualification on the upper secondary level of education providing you with eligibility to University-level Bachelor's studies in the country where the degree was completed in.
No language test required.
- Applying with Finnish Matriculation Examination or related results
Holders of Finnish Matriculation Examination, International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate or Reifeprüfung.
Language Test required with a few exceptions to the rule.
LUT University's Lappeenranta campus is located in the district of Skinnarila, seven kilometres from the city centre. The compact campus area is located by the beautiful lake Saimaa and offers LUT students all of the student services needed.
