Our BA (Hons) Criminology and Policing degree combines our expertise in contemporary criminology and professional policing to provide a comprehensive understanding of criminological theories that can be applied to current socio-economic policies and conditions. Combining criminology study with policing modules which cover aspects of the national policing curriculum, this three-year course is for those interested in pursuing a career in the criminal justice sector, police service or associated fields.

The Professional Policing with Foundation Year, for those who require it, is aimed at developing the skills required to enable students to study in any of our Undergraduate programs with confidence. The foundation year is therefore not specific to the policing degree but provides an alternative entry route onto the Policing degree and serves as an underpinning year, incorporating both academic and legal/professional related learning as well as skills needed to participate in levels 4, 5, and 6.  learning as well as skills needed to participate in levels 4, 5 and 6.

The BSc (Hons) Professional Policing 3-year degree will provide you with professional knowledge of the ethics, skills and attitudes that are critical to twenty-first-century policing. The course has been designed to meet the requirements of the College of Policing National Curriculum for the role of a Police Constable under the National Policing Education Qualifications Framework. A range of key topics will be studied in the area of crime, criminology, law, terrorism, associated psychology, sociology and criminal investigation.

The course is a 4 year BA in Criminology including a Foundation Year. The course is aimed at students who may be critical of current criminal justice policies and who are seeking employment in either the criminal justice sector or associated fields. This course benefits from both a theoretical basis as well as a vocational and applied nature. There is a high level of face-to-face tuition delivered by practicing criminologists who are currently active in this field of study.

Our BA (Hons) Criminology is a three-year degree, aimed at students who are seeking employment in either the criminal justice sector or associated fields. The course is designed by practising criminologists. It has a high level of face-to-face tuition, with a teaching team which includes practising criminologists in some centres. Students will develop an understanding of key criminology concepts and theories, looking at areas such as cybercrime, migration, terrorism, trafficking, mass incarceration and, drugs and the role they play in the Criminal Justice system.
