This agreement was unique in its approach and the first of its kind at the beginning of the nuclear renaissance. This agreement was initiated because of the need to expand the inclusion of minorities in all levels of nuclear energy, research, development, and production. Currently, the Nuclear Engineering Program (NEP) is in partnership with both North Carolina State University (NC State) and the UWM.
