Bachelors in Turkey 2017. The honors minor program in Philosopy is designed for the students who wants to learn the fundamentals and develop thinking abilities about this subject. The program aims students to gain basic knowledge abilities to be able to follow current philosophical discussions. What is philosophy? The aim of philosophy, abstractly formulated, is to understand how things in the broadest possible sense of the term hang together in the broadest possible sense of the term. Under 'things in the broadest possible sense' I include such radically different items as not only 'cabbages and kings', but numbers and duties, possibilities and finger snaps, aesthetic experience and death. To achieve success in philosophy would be, to use a contemporary turn of phrase, to 'know one's way around' with respect to all these things, not in that unreflective way in which the centipede of the story knew its way around before it faced the question, 'how do I walk?', but in that reflective way which means that no intellectual holds are barred. Wilfrid Sellars The word philosophy means the love of wisdom, but what philosophers really love is reasoning. They formulate theories and marshal reasons to support them, they consider objections and try to meet these, they construct arguments against other views. Even philosophers who proclaim the limitations of reason—the Greek skeptics, David Hume, doubters of the objectivity of science—all adduce reasons for their views and present difficulties for opposing ones. Proclamations or aphorisms are not considered philosophy unless they also enshrine and delineate reasoning. Robert Nozick The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating and to end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it. Bertrand Russell Philosophy is an activity that uses reasoning and rigorous argument to promote human flourishing. Epicurus Application Requirements Minor Honors Programs are designed to provide knowledge and information in areas other than those of the student's registered diploma program. At the opposite of the spectrum, have you ever wondered what is this instinct that urges you to push the opaque fiber glass doors of the Comme des Garcons flagship store in Rue du Faubourg St. Honore in Paris? Whether we are astounded by their complexity or our curiosity or intrigued by their apparent simplicity, stores that achieve to make customers « pop in » to take a look are the ones that have mastered the art of visual merchandising. Visual merchandising is a highly utilized platform applied by brands to promote a visual concept to its customers. Visual merchandisers are highly sought after, as they develop visual strategies and promote products, services in store and in catalogs, to excite and engage. This first point of contact is also known as silent selling. Too often reduced to window dressing, visual merchandising is a much more complex function of retail as it entails not only props or external decor in general but also interior architecture. The specific path that we follow within a store without even realizing it, the light intensity that varies according to the day or the impulse buying products strategically placed right next to the cashier are as many elements that participate to the achievement of the visual merchandiser’s ultimate goal: maximize the sales volume per available retailing square meter. As part of its philosophy to provide students that the most up to date and industry relevant academic programs, IFA Paris has crafted a unique Bachelor in Visual Merchandising in collaboration with its Florentine academic partner: Academia Italiana. Following the principle of campus rotations that IFA Paris has pioneered, students enrolled in the Bachelor in Visual Merchandising will have the possibility to follow their course in 3 locations: Shanghai, Florence and Paris. Then we have something in common. As a current student at Budapest Metropolitan University, I was clearly taught that the course you choose isn't what you study, it’s what you live. Here I have the chance to build a balance between my academic and social life and I have met so many nice people in the international community.Whether if they’re locals or from the parts of the world that you didn't even hear before, you’ll always be cheerful to meet these people. Apart from liking the fact that teachers would feel like your tutors during the classes and your friends afterwards the school, it makes sense of calling this atmosphere a family. Being a student here has given me the opportunity to equip myself with all the necessary skills and knowledge to further my career anywhere in the world. I thought I was only going to be a university student abroad as I enrolled to Metropolitan, but now I see I became an individual who delightedly calls this place, home.” Vedat Direk

However, I must admit I have made a lot of research about the Hungarian history and found it very rich and amazing. There are so many historic places to go and many things to do. When I was searching for Communication programs in Budapest, Metropolitan was the first result. I became particularly interested in this University, because Metropolitan focuses on teaching practical knowledge and I have the opportunity to practice the acquired methods and techniques on real-life issues. One of my primary reasons to study here is, that Metropolitan degrees are recognized in all EU countries and the University has a lot of partners around the world. During seminars we study in small groups, so I feel that instructors can focus on teaching us individually and can really mentor us. They can find out in which fields we are more talented and focus on how to make us the best.” Ahmad Al-Rabayah
student of our Communication and Media BA Program from Jordan "Journalists have a deep impact on our ability and disposition to communicate and cooperate with each other both in our everyday life and at a social level. The most important virtue of any journalist is a firm code of ethics and moral standards and the ability to look at the world as a free individual. No other basis may underpin credible and ethical journalism. At Metropolitan this is what we try to achieve in the hope that our graduates will become members of the elite group of highly professional and honorable journalists.” András Kepes DLA, habil.
