For three to four years, students enrolled in Bachelor programs will develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to succeed in a career in their field, or to continue their education in a Master or PhD program. In South Africa, students sit for a Senior Certificate Examination during their final year of secondary school, and scores on this test are used to determine their admission into higher education.
