The Human Rights Program provides you with an understanding of what human rights are and how they are interpreted and utilized legally, politically, and philosophically, as well as how the development of human rights is a result of ongoing global transformations. Human rights are grounded in the belief that all people are born free and are of equal moral worth, and should therefore have equal access to rights.

The Bachelor in European Studies program provides you with further knowledge and a deeper understanding of Europe and the European Union today and historically, including its position and role from a global perspective. You will be introduced to a variety of disciplines and perspectives on Europe, with a combination of theories and insights from the fields of political science, history, geography, law, culture, and literature.

The International Relations major is designed for students who wish to deepen their knowledge and understanding of this multi-disciplinary field. Students receive a solid foundation for a variety of careers in areas such as diplomatic and government service, international organizations, international business, journalism, law, and banking. Many graduates have also chosen to pursue graduate study in related areas.

This is one of several specialist routes available in our BA (Honours) Social Sciences (R23) degree. Half of your studies will be in interdisciplinary social science and sociology, giving you a firm grounding in knowledge and ideas central to the social sciences. For the other half, you’ll explore the fundamentals of political theory, examining the debates and conflicts inherent in a modern democracy. You’ll have an opportunity to focus on either international politics or contemporary political ideas.

This wide-ranging course will develop and deepen your knowledge of different periods of history while providing a critical understanding of political ideas, institutions, issues and theories. You’ll tackle challenging issues such as power and warfare, security and insecurity, global justice, culture and beliefs, health and medicine, imperialism and resistance, and class and gender.

Politics, philosophy and economics (PPE) are central to understanding how modern societies are organised and governed. By studying them together you'll gain a combination of skills that’s in high demand across the private, public and non-profit sectors. Whilst PPE has been described as ‘the degree that runs Britain’, this combination is better viewed as the study of how countries are run, what motivates and constrains their rulers and residents, and how social order and prosperity are best understood and promoted. All three disciplines are presented in up-to-date form, covering alternative as well as ‘mainstream’ approaches and firmly rooted in the real world.

The Conflict and Security Studies concentration at the University of New York in Prague helps students to understand international disputes, the way in which their nature have changed, and the use of violence in international relations. These topics have never been more relevant than they are now, and students of this concentration will develop the analytical skills necessary to understand the risks we confront in our lives. They will be ready to pursue careers in which they work to limit the impact of these risks and make our societies safer.

The Diplomacy and International Law concentration at the University of New York in Prague aims to provide students with a solid understanding of the functioning of diplomacy today, and the role of international law in global affairs. The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations: Human Rights is a 3-year, internationally accredited program offering a modern and interdisciplinary education in international relations with a concentration in human rights. You will earn a globally recognized American and European B.A. degree.

The Bachelor in Politics of Global Challenges programme focuses on the most pressing issues currently affecting the development of countries and societies. During the programme, you will examine the practical dilemmas arising as a result of the transformations and innovations taking place in society, technology, politics and other areas.
